Getting an identity of your own is very important, especially in the world of painting and illustration. Having a defined personal style that speaks of oneself as an artist, although later used for other clients, is essential. Camipepe, or what is the same, Camila Olivares (Cami) and José Flores (Pepe), are designers who began self-taught in the illustration and, naturally, found their form of expression in a style that is fresh, colored Vivid and simple shapes, with a childish touch.

In this course, Camipepe will teach you how to capture your illustrated universe in a composition, and then take it to different stationery stands through a mockup . You will learn to prepare the files for printing and you will receive some tips to market your products and open your own path in the illustration.

Learn how to express your personal universe in your first illustrated stationery collection

You will meet Cami and Pepe, what their creative studio is like, what kind of projects they do and what their artistic influences are. They will briefly explain what you will do throughout the course.

It is important to capture an identity in your illustrations; You will see the elements that define Camipepe's style and how to start defining your own.

Let's do it! Next, you will do some drawing exercises to start letting go of your hand and imagination. Then, through a brainstorming , you will define the theme of the illustration and the elements and characters that will be part of the composition.

You will look for references that revolve around the theme and put them in a moodboard , which will help you in organizing your images. The idea is that you can bring those images to your own style.

You will make a pencil eraser (it is also possible in digital), with the ideas of brainstorming for later, make your final sketch paying attention to all the details. When finished, you will learn to digitize it.

You will pass your image to Adobe Illustrator, where you will vectorize your illustrated elements. Previously, Camipepe will give you a basic introduction so that you know the functionalities of the software .

You will see how to dimension and determine your color palette. Once you apply these colors to your illustrated elements, you will organize, scale and edit them depending on each format you produce in your stationery.

You will learn what a mockup , and you will make one by applying your designs so that you see an approximation to the end result of your stationery products. Finally, Camipepe will teach you how to prepare your files for printing.
