Coke Riobóo - musician, composer and animator winner of a Goya - and Lourdes Villagómez -director and animation producer who has worked for the Fundación Telefónica and the Reina Sofia Museum-, will teach you different stop motion animation techniques with which you can make your own handmade movies, without the need of big budgets and with homemade materials.

Create your own animated film with modelling clay, sand or cut-outs

You will begin to learn more about the work and influences of Coke and Lourdes, as well as a brief introduction about the history of stop motion and its different techniques.

Below you will discover some basic animation concepts (create movement through variations in size, color, shape or position, what is the frame rate, continuous movement, acceleration and deceleration ...), the materials and tools needed to make your first piece animated and the software that you will use.

Then, it will be time to get down to work. To do this, you will create the concept and the storyboard of your story, you will learn to make basic animations with different techniques: Objects, cut-outs, sand and play dough on a light table. With which you can give life to your stories.

Finally, the teachers will explain some final recommendations on how to look for grants and the process to participate in festivals.
