The illustrator and artist David de las Heras has collaborated with different international magazines and publications, although his greatest contribution to the publishing world is in the form of book covers. With his illustrations you see the ideas that these books hide, counting without words what the pages give us inside.
In this course you will learn to use pictorial techniques, oil, to create illustrations capable of transmitting an idea to the viewer, either for editorial use or for any other graphic field.
Description
David will start by talking about the formal importance of an image and will show it to you through a series of examples.
Through a simple exercise you will learn to appreciate the importance of color when telling a story and how it helps to guide the emotions of the viewer.
Using the sketch as a basis, you will look for the idea on which the cover of the book you have decided to illustrate will be based on.
Once the concept has been selected, you will look for a reference image in digital format and use Photoshop to make a copy.
Next, you will stain your hands with the first layers of acrylic, then begin to paint with oil.
Once finished the painting, you will scan your illustration to give it the last touches in Photoshop and finish the layout leaving the design ready to take to the printing press.
