In this course you will learn the creative and technical process for the creation of characters with gouache and Chinese ink, reviewing the basic principles of drawing, guiding you from the first sketches, to the digitization of your illustrations.

Learn to give personality to your creations through colour

You will start knowing the work of Andonella, who will also tell you about her favorite artists.

Next, it will show you the importance of creating a moodboard and, it will teach you to collect all those elements that inspire you to capture them in your characters through the graphic style and the color palette.

Andonella will talk about the drawing method she has developed throughout her career as an illustrator, which helps her create characters more effectively. In addition, it will give you a few creative tips to help you let go of your hand and discover the pleasure of drawing.

Then, you will learn the materials that you will use throughout the course and you will learn to correctly handle each one of them.

You will know the importance of color and you will learn to work with the chromatic circle to give more character to your illustrations. You will discover new tools and create your own color palette with gouache.

Once you have the finished sketch and your color palette defined, you will make the drawing in an analogical way, then digitize it, make the color correction with Photoshop and give it the final touches to apply it in any medium.
