This is the second course by José Rosero on Domestika, after Introduction to Portraits with India Ink and Nibs, in which he teaches how to create a portrait using India ink with personality and character.

Learn how to create magical illustrations by uniting opposing concepts

Start the course by getting to know more about José and his influences, plus an introduction to the fantastic binomials and what you will be doing during the course.

Learn what fantastic binomials are, how they trigger ideas, hypothesis, and how to use them to create images. Review the materials that you need during the course and begin the process of conceptualizing your project.

José describes each of the techniques you will use as a different language and, in the third unit of this course, you will become fluent in all of them. Discover how to use graphite pencils, colored pencils, and get an introduction to the world of collage and all its possible uses.

Finally, learn how to get the best idea from the lists of possible pairs made previously. With your chosen idea, begin the process of sketching and composing the illustration that will become your final project.
