Description

Develop your own drawing style through observation and turn the blank page into a pool of ideas

Start the course by getting to know Weberson who tells you about his professional background as a teacher and illustrator for children's books and board games. He shows you the three artists who have inspired his work and gives you an overview of the course content.

Next, learn why it's important to always have a sketchbook on hand and overcome your fear of making mistakes. Cover basic composition and typography concepts to help you add balance, harmony, and strength to your project and draw your first doodles to get an understanding of how a drawing is structured.

Then, join Weberson on an experimental adventure and explore the creative possibilities of different materials like graphite, coal, ink, and acrylic paint. Learn how to create textures with acrylic gesso using household items like a fork, a sponge, or even a comb.

Once you've finished experimenting, practice some observation exercises to help you approach sketching your poster and learn how to hand copy the image using carbon paper. Play with different colors until you find the right color scheme for your composition and bring your illustration to life with paint.

Finally, if you want to take your project a step further, import your poster into Photoshop. Weberson reveals his secrets on how to add the finishing touches to an illustration and gives you some tips on how to share your project.
