What were your favorite toys as a child? Fernando Del Hambre has always been partial to colored pencils and notebooks. From a young age, the illustrator has never stopped telling stories through his drawings. If you enjoy experimenting on a blank canvas and are interested in learning some techniques for bringing your creative work to life, this course is for you.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to develop a better creative process, gain confidence, and enhance your way of seeing the world. Using some of Del Hambre’s favorite exercises, watch your ideas jump off the page in your digital sketchbook, the perfect portfolio and cover letter for future clients.

Description

Learn different techniques for exploring your imagination and improve your method of drawing the world

Before starting, Del Hambre encourages you to always listen to good music and never stop drawing: the two things that he enjoys the most. Listen to Del Hambre as he shares his story with you, touching on some of his inspiration and influences that have helped him reach his full potential.

Take a look at the materials and tools that are used in this course. Del Hambre provides you with a series of brushes and page mockups that are used in Photoshop. Then, go through some quick exercises to get started and not think so much, loosening up and gaining confidence in your strokes as you go along.

Then it’s time to focus on adding expressions and ideas to make your work stand out. An illustration should always tell a story, so learn how to draw concepts and develop visual metaphors. See how to interpret a brief and how to create a coherent narrative throughout your images.

To finish, collect all your work inside a digital sketchbook that represents your style. Learn how to design the front and back cover, and create a publication that reflects the work you’ve done in the course. Finally, see how to use your project as a portfolio and get some of Del Hambre’s top tips on how to market your work like a pro.
