Beauty is found in the little things around you, from the mountain of books accumulated on your bedside table to the leftovers from last night's dinner. Or, at least, that is what Elisa Alcalde believes, the artist who turns the everyday objects around her into works of art.
In this course, learn how to paint contemporary still lifes with watercolor and give everyday elements a new value and meaning. Break with traditional still life patterns and apply creative painting techniques to produce unique and modern works.
Description
Start by getting to know Elisa and discovering how she ended up painting with watercolor. See the work of different watercolor artists that inspire her craft, as well as some aesthetic references and her personal works.
Learn how to build a still life from the everyday objects around you and photograph them to use as a model. To do this, Elisa explains the basic concepts regarding composition. She talks to you about choosing colors and teaches you how to create a harmonic image.
After tracing the photo, prepare the paper with water and a base tone to start painting. Then, discover the importance of lights and shadows by using watercolor to achieve different shades of color and depth.
Finally, put the finishing touches on your work and wait for it to dry before applying the final details. In addition, Elisa gives you some tips on how to store your work or frame it.
