Working in 3D gives you maximum flexibility as an artist, and allows you to create evocative artwork that people connect with. 3D artist Andrew Morgan specializes in creating immersive three-dimensional environments using digital tools. As well as working for clients like Aconite, he founded his own brand in 2017, where he experiments with different kinds of media, from virtual reality to poster art.
In this course, Andrew teaches you how to create 3D interior visualizations using Cinema 4D and Redshift. Discover the tools and techniques you need to build vibrant and compelling environments with a retro twist and a splash of neon. Are you ready to express yourself in 3D?
Description
Begin the course by getting to know 3D artist Andrew Morgan. He talks through his career and how he came to start his brand, Dreamfibre. Discover the fellow artists who inspire the work he creates.
Gather reference materials to inspire your concept; Andrew shares where he finds his inspiration, along with his advice for building a library of references. Dive into some basic 3D modeling techniques, from extruding to plane cutting, before setting up Cinema 4D in preparation for your final project.
Time to begin building your 3D environment, starting with the room composition. Use shapes to block out each element of your design, including windows, furniture, and more. Learn how to model a curved retro sofa along with other, more detailed elements to give your design a luxurious feel. Add neon features to decorate your room, before incorporating things like columns, plants, and water to add realism and depth to your work.
Bring your 3D environment to life with the digital tools of Redshift. Andrew shares his approach to adding light to his work before showing you how to add other basic materials to your environment as well as the finishing touches. To end the course, hear Andrew’s advice for sharing your work on social media.
