"Luckily, how we work is no longer the same". For Monika Lepel, interior designer and founder of LEPEL & LEPEL studio, a new way of working means new workspaces, and that's just her specialty: designing unconventional office spaces that meet the needs of today's smart, digital, and dynamic work climate. Her and her team have worked with pioneers of digitization like Google and Microsoft.

The foundation of her work is to help "form ties". She strongly believes that meticulous mapping out of shared spaces is the ideal methodology for uniting teams and departments to create internal brand identities alongside external ones. For her, interior design is an art form that almost everyone can get excited about.

In this course, learn to design extraordinary spaces and develop strong workspace concepts. Analyze both the physical and human requirements and make your ideas a reality selecting the materials and colors of the decor to impress your client with a clear and concise presentation.

Description

Design inspiring workspaces by learning to analyze structures, needs, and goals as a starting point for an identity-focused concept

Start by getting to know Monika Lepel as she talks about her passion for interior design and, above all, the design of office spaces. She also shares her background as an architect and what experiences and projects have defined her career the most.

Get straight down to learning the fundamentals of interior design and its influence when it comes to designing workspaces. Using the Google offices in Düsseldorf as a case study, Monika introduces you to the theoretical foundations behind these types of spaces with the aim of promoting togetherness and fueling creativity.

Next, discover the three most important factors when it comes to designing offices: architecture, the client, and the different spaces. Analyze each element in order to identify opportunities as well as assess the risks, gather relevant information, and imbue it with its own narrative.

Now it's time to get designing! Gradually develop your idea by selecting materials and sketching the rooms. Monika then teaches you to present your ideas and designs in a compelling way using a range of techniques and models to get everything into one single pitch.

Your teacher helps you wrap up your project exploring the experiences, knowledge, and links you've managed to create with your design. To round out the course, learn to look for and develop your own artistic take on a project.
