In this course, learn four techniques for decorative painting to apply to a range of surfaces including walls, furniture, and fabrics. Adriana and Carlota teach you color theory, how to prepare the foundation for your samples, and the processes of the principal techniques developed by the duo themselves: estuco berlim (Berlin study), tie-dye, policromia (polychrome), and listras gastas (worn-out streaks).
Description
Start the course by hearing about the 30-year career of the artists Adriana Pedrosa and Carlota Gasparian, from their academic education to the creation of their studio. Discover their sources of inspiration including artists, elements in nature, and trips.
Learn about the basic foundations of color theory, the color wheel, and how to create a harmonious color palette. Now create the bases for your samples with MDF, canvas, linen, and a few additional materials.
Finish off your bases and explore how to mix colors and pastes. Then, delve into the four surface-painting techniques developed by the duo throughout their journey together: estuco berlim (Berlin study), tie-dye, policromia (polychrome), and listras gastas (worn-out streaks).
Lastly, Adriana and Carlota show you how to apply a varnish or wax finish to your samples to help maintain that fresh new look for longer. Also see how to use these techniques on different surfaces so there's not a single space you can't transform!
