Only you decide how many lives your garments have. Join the upcycling trend and recycle all those pieces in your closet that you’ve forgotten about. Fashion designer Krizia Robustella turned some '90s nylon tracksuits she found in the back room of her mother's store into her first runway collection. Since then, she firmly believes that working with used clothes can be the best way to get started in the world of fashion, allowing you to work with a base and create something totally new.

In this course, you will learn to create a fashion collection under a single creative concept and will customize a piece of clothing by transforming it into a new one. You will learn the process step by step and study different techniques like deconstruction or the creation of your own textures. Once completed, you will have designed a collection using the upcycling technique and will be able to personalize any garment in your own unique style.

Description

Learn how to customize and personalize any garment in your own style

To begin, Krizia tells you about getting her start: where she studied and how she came to create her own brand almost accidentally. In addition, get to know her main influences, which combine the urban style of the ‘80s with the luxury and excesses of the ‘90s.

Learn how to get the most out of your ideas from brainstorming and discover where to find inspiration to help create a moodboard for your projects. From there, focus on a unique concept for your collection. This will be the basis for transforming your chosen garment.

Next, work on the mannequin and pay special attention to the details that will make your garment unique. Learn different creative techniques such as deconstruction, stamping, embroidery, and the creation of your own textures using ribbons, trimmings, and non-woven fabrics.

Finish the course by analyzing the artistic concept that unites the pieces in your collection and see some tricks for shooting the campaign photos so that they aligned with your idea. Also, imagine what the ideal shooting would be like from a collage in which you will deal with different elements like attitude, makeup, poses, location, and more.
