Creating art that you can wear is a great way to show off your style and personality; a simple white tee can turn into a moving work of art that is all your own. Julia Pelletier is a textile designer who has been specializing in silk screen printing, drawing, and teaching for over 15 years, sharing her love of textile design with others who share her passion.

In this course, you will learn how to print on clothing with four different techniques: sublimation, textile sprays, needle felting and spray, and collage. Have fun by combining creative techniques to design a garment as unique as you are.

Description

Discover and mix different techniques to create unique and charming pieces of clothing

Start by getting to know Julia and the highlights of her career. She shows you books, artists, illustrators, collage artists, photographers, and textile platforms that inspire her.

To research and develop a personal visual language, learn how to get the most out of a sketchbook. Julia helps you make decisions on drawings, textures, color palette, and fabric selection, before showing you how to select the right garment to print on.

Now it is time to print your garment using the drawings and other materials. Julia shows you four different techniques for printing and combines them to create a unique composition.

To finish your piece, iron it inside out so the ink is fixed onto the fabric. Hand wash your garment or throw it in a washing machine on the gentle cycle at 30ºC before letting it dry completely.
