If you want to learn how to create your first sculpture, in this course you can achieve it by the Italian plastic artist Francesca Dalla Benetta. Degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan (Italy), after a 10-year incursion into the world of special effects for film and television as Make up artist and specialized in prosthetics and creatures Fantastic, he decided to devote his life to the creation of full-time sculptures. In this course you will learn to make a sculpture step by step, using modeling clay or epoxy putty, in all its stages: from the structure to the final paint finishes.
The material used is a two-component product, which mixed hardens in the air without the need for an oven or to make molds, resulting in a faster and cheaper process.
Description
The first thing you will do is meet Francesca Dalla Benetta and her professional career in film and television. He made the leap as a full-time plastic artist in 2010, coming to exhibit in several countries of the world. You will see its main influences that vary between classical art, cinema, fantastic literature, cyberpunk and terror to nature and biology.
You will become familiar with all the materials and tools you will need to create your first sculpture. You will see what epoxy plasticine is, how it is prepared and all the tricks to work with the material perfectly. Then, through a demonstration, you will learn some smoothing and texturing techniques to release your hand with that material.
You will create with Francesca, the sketch of your sculpture with paper and pencil and you will know the difference between the first sketch and the technical sketch. You will work your character's structure with wire and foil using tweezers.
You will continue adding the main volumes, outlining the body without details and giving the final texture. Then, you will focus on the human face and give it the final finishes to verify that the piece is stable and has good finishes.
Finally, you will learn the different ways to paint your work with oil, enamels, acrylic or stained glass. You will add paint details and finally apply the protective varnish to finish the piece.
At the end of this course, you will have the notions necessary to make a sculptural piece in a simple and practical way.
