Have you ever thought about creating with punch needle AND crochet? Combine these two techniques and explore a whole new world of possibilities with embroidery artist Jocelin González, aka Toys Laru, who specializes in decorative embroidery pieces and amigurumis.
In this course, learn how to use new materials and combine the punch needle and crochet technique to create a decorative piece with unique textures.
Description
Start the course by getting to know Jocelin González, who tells you about her professional background and shares her biggest influences and sources of inspiration.
Then, go over all the materials you need to create your final project. First up, the punch needle. Look at its structure, main features, and learn some of the other names it's known by. Repeat the process with the crochet hook and see how the two differ.
Review a set of sample stitches for both techniques and use the color wheel to help you choose the best colors for your project. Now it's time to work on your alpaca. Prepare your materials, transfer your design to the fabric, and secure it to the embroidery hoop so you can start stitching. Use the punch needle to embroider the body and switch to the crochet hook to give your alpaca ears and a nose.
Put the final touches on your project by adding a beautiful finish to the back of your hoop. To end the course, Jocelin gives you some tips on how to apply what you've learn to other creative projects.
