To create an authentic portrait you must connect with the portrayed in a sincere way to make him feel comfortable but, in addition, you must master some basic photography concepts to achieve a professional result. Marcela Cerbón - professional photographer - is passionate about portraiture and her work has gone through magazines like Vogue Mexico, Hello! Spain, Magazine 192, Who and Harper's Bazaar, and this course will teach you the basics to get started in this art.
You will learn the process to achieve natural and spontaneous portraits that reflect your personality or style, starting with the selection of camera, lenses, accessories, lighting, perching and model direction (women, men and groups of people) as well as the basic retouching in Adobe Photoshop
Description
You will meet Marcela, her studies and her love for photography, art that she has been professionally dedicated to for 10 years. You will see its main influences among world-renowned photographers to inspire you.
You will start by analyzing the work of different portraitists to recognize their styles and better understand the techniques they used. Then, you will learn about Marcela's pre-production process with which, from an idea, you will create a mood board and a color palette.
Next, you will discover everything you need regarding the equipment and the ideal lenses for the portrait, considering your level of experience and, also, the importance of the diaphragm for your session.
You will learn about the treatment of light. You will see the difference between soft light and hard light. You will deepen the use in study of the different modifiers and some concepts about fill light and how to take advantage of the light outdoors.
The styling is the key to differentiate your photographs. You will take into account details such as costumes, hair, makeup and accessories for your model to exploit them to the fullest.
You will learn to work with a model under study and you will see concepts of posed to convey emotions, as well as basic frames and some general rules of composition.
Finally, you will post-produce your session. You will reveal in Camera Raw leveling exposure, brightness, contrasts and shadows and then pass your photos to Adobe Photoshop, where you will perform a basic and very practical touch-up.
At the end you will have learned some basic concepts of photography, so if you are beginners, you will already have the necessary basis to transfer your vision to a basic photo session of real portrait with professional techniques.
