There isn’t a clear-cut way of designing or redesigning a logo, the possibilities are endless. Rubén Ferlo is a designer that specializes in brand design and logos with a passion for minimalism and reductionism; his experience and perception of design have led him to a “less is more” approach. He has worked for clients in the USA, Australia, the Middle East, and Russia, for both startups and major companies.
In this course, Rubén teaches his creative process to master the graphic simplification for a logo design, step by step. Learn how to design simple and memorable brands, while maintaining your own style throughout the process.
Description
Start the course by getting to know Rubén, who tells you about how he began his career in graphic design, his “less is more” design philosophy, and where he finds inspiration.
Learn some key branding concepts and get Rubén’s perspective on logo design, graphic simplification, and its styles, shapes, and other elements to consider before starting your design.
See how to start your project effectively, from how to interpret a brief, to the conceptualization. Create a mood board to visualize your concept and start sketching.
Then it’s time to start designing! Create vectors from your sketches with some advice on composition and visual correction as you work. Once your image is ready, Rubén teaches you how to select the right typeface for your design and then shows you how to add color by explaining their properties and meaning, and shows you how to create a strong color palette.
Work on the imagotype by selecting the right size and spacing, analyzing different variations until you find the right one, and apply it to different formats to add it to your final presentation.
