Can you imagine the creative opportunities when fusing carpentry and jewelry? From her workshop Arvoredo Studio, designer Luciana Albuquerque creates truly unique works of art full of personality by combining silver and wood.
In this course, create a pair of earrings using these two materials, from the initial design right the way through to the finishing touches. With your teacher as your guide, learn how to sculpt your ideas and produce your first pieces of designer jewelry.
Description
Start by getting to know Luciana Albuquerque. She talks about her professional journey as an architect, jewelry designer, and founder of the Arvoredo Studio brand, and shares her main artistic influences.
Create a mood board of reference materials for your project. Use your mood board to design a piece of paper jewelry taking into account form, volume, and size. Luciana explains the physical characteristics of wood and shows you how to work with it. She also goes over the tools and materials you need to make your earrings.
Now it's time to get crafting! Learn to measure, cut, and sand the wood correctly. Luciana teaches you how to prepare and shape the silver wire to achieve your design, as well as file, solder, and polish it for the desired finish. Finish up by combining the two materials.
Discover how to care for your creation. Take photos of the finished product and choose the best ones to edit and share on social media. Wrap up the course with some of Luciana's tips on how to promote your work and sell your jewelry.
