TRAMARTE

The decorative pieces for the home of Tramarte, although they are contemporary, manage to transmit the Mexican cultural heritage, handcrafted for hours with care and care: from small paintings to large-format pieces and textile installations. These designers work with natural fibers such as cotton and wool, and take advantage of each other's properties to create innovative products.

In this course you will learn from the hand of Tramarte to assemble a loom and weave with different stitches to create a piece of decoration for your home. You will know the basic flat and volume fabrics, from the mood board to its concept and final elaboration.

Description

Learn the basic weaves and make pieces with volume to decorate your home

You will meet Ana and Brenda, or what is the same, Tramarte. They will tell you about their beginnings in textile screening, the way they work together and their creative process. Also, they will share with you their artistic influences.

You will know the differences between the screen and the macrame. You will see basic concepts like warp and weft; Then you will learn to choose the materials, colors and the role they play in the design of your textile.

Inside the flat weave you will learn the basic one, the taffeta; they will teach you to weave without the loom acinture and make "butterflies" to better use your raw material. You will discover variants such as horizontal, vertical and different thickness effects to exploit your creativity. Then, you will give volume to your piece with loops, fringes and waves.

You will learn to illustrate the different fabrics that will allow you to sketch the ideas of your pieces on paper. You will choose a color palette and create a mood board where you will put images, colors, materials and textures that inspire you.

You will mount your base of the frame, assembling the warp and calculating the material to use. You will start at the bottom making volume stitches and continue on the top end finishing the fabric and securing it. Tramarte will guide you through the entire screening process and will explain how to give the last finishes to your piece, so that nothing remains loose and has a clean finish.

Finally, you will take note of the basic care to keep your pieces in good condition and you will know other ways to use textile fabric, whether in fashion, interior design or textile art pieces and installations.
