In this course, design and create a multicolored knitted top. With Anna's help, use collage to sketch and develop your design, translate it into a diagram, and learn to work with the intarsia knitting technique. Discover how to transform your own ideas into garments designed by you.

Description

Learn to design knitting patterns with graphic elements and experiment with colors, shapes, and materials to reinterpret a traditional craft

Start the course by meeting your teacher, Anna Husemann. She tells you in more detail about her professional background, why she is passionate about knitting, and some of her sources of inspiration.

Go through the materials and background knowledge needed to make your knitted top, then discover how the intarsia technique works and how to knit a garter stitch gauge. As a starting point for your knitting pattern, create paper collages to define your final design and transfer it to a knitting diagram.

Once you have created the pattern and chosen the yarn colors, it's time to knit your top! Anna gives you some tips for the front, including how to calculate the amount of yarn and how to connect the different colors. Next, make a rectangle for the back. Knit an I-Cord edge to seal the straps and finish off the top with side seams, weaving in the loose ends of the yarn and joining the straps to the back.

Finally, Anna teaches you the best way to wash and dry your garment, as well as how to customize it according to your own tastes.
