A dazzling dahlia, a radiant sunflower, a sprinkling of bold choices, and a healthy dose of playfulness... There you have it! Justine Beaussart's magical world of flowers comes to life. From her fresh and colorful universe, the florist loves to create customized, unique scenes with her compositions.
She helps make her clients' dreams a reality by using local and seasonal flowers to create memorable compositions with the power to brighten up any event. In this course, Justine teaches you floral design techniques to make wonderfully creative scenes while respecting the environment in the process.
Description
Justine starts off by telling you about her background and what made her decide to become a florist. She also talks about some of the artists who have influenced her work, such as Lewis Miller and Éric Chauvin.
Justine goes on to explain what floral design involves and the basic concepts that stem from it. Learn the difference between types of flowers and sort them into categories (primary, secondary, and filler). Then take a look at the materials you need before discovering some arrangement techniques without using floral foam—these are much more environmentally friendly.
Discover the secrets to creating harmonious and balanced compositions. To do this, create a mood board and run through the cornerstones of balance in any composition: color, texture, and volume.
Now let's get to work! Choose the theme of your floral project and set up your scenographic space. Learn how to create compositions with visible containers (using a Kenzan) and invisible ones (using chicken wire), as well as overhead structures.
To wrap up the course, get some great tips on photographing, transporting, and pricing your compositions. Justine knows all the best-kept secrets about floral decoration!
