Familiarize yourself with the equipment for the course, from needles and threads to your rotary tool, then set up a safe workspace for drilling. See how Sara finds inspiration and hear tips on how you can find your own. Learn how to plan your holes and stitches for different elements, then work on a sample to practice both drilling and stitch techniques.
Design your symmetrical motif using either digital or analog methods, planning the placement and type of each of your stitches. Select your color palette with Sara’s advice on contrasting and complementary shades. Then transfer your design to the wood slice by attaching your paper pattern.
