The ability to fully capture a subject depends on an array of factors: color, composition, environment, lighting, and effects, among others. That’s the challenge for visual artist Mikeila Borgia who creates expressive and impressive photographs through experimental editing and conceptual art.
In this course, learn how to creatively retouch your portraits so that they never go unnoticed. Together with Mikeila, see how to rebuild spaces and digitally transform them using Photoshop to make them more impactful. In her other course, Continuous Light Photography and Portrait Retouching, you'll be able to continue experimenting with lighting to achieve perfectly vibrant images.
Description
Start things off by getting to know Mikeila, some of her recent work, and some of the artists that influence her. She explains why she believes it is so important to master digital tools as a way of retouching for creating impactful visual content.
See how Mikeila captures the photograph that will be used throughout the course. Then, analyze the images and select the one that works best by focusing on the composition and technical details.
Next, it’s time to enter post-production with Photoshop. Make a quick sketch that identifies the corrections that will have to be made in the file. Consider tasks like the general cleaning of an image, the aesthetic, the layout, and the design of the environment.
Finally, learn to give your image an eye-catching creative touch. Adjust the color tones to create visual harmony throughout the image. Finish by creating a dramatic environment that highlights the model and add additional effects like leaves and lights.
