Color is not only a companion of the forms, this can be a significant fundamental element in a graphic design and visual communication project. Leire Fernández and Eduardo Herrera are doctors of Fine Arts and university professors and researchers specialized in graphic design. They teach disciplines such as editorial graphics, visual identity, typography, professionalization and design management, among others, and in this course they will teach you the functions and variables of color applied to graphic design.

You will learn to appreciate and know, through an analytical and practical approach, the communicative resources of color for a better understanding of the functioning of images in our visual communicative environment.

Description

Learn the communicative value of color and apply it to your design projects

You will begin by knowing Leire and Eduardo, they will show you those references and experiences that have determined the conviction of their ideas when it comes to teaching and resorting to color in their teaching and professional work.

Next, they will explain to you how the act of designing implies the use of color and therefore, the application to this process of its communicative functions. To do this, they will show you how color exerts a triple power over people: the power to impress, since color manifests itself by attracting the attention of the observer; the power of expression, since color expresses a meaning and provokes an emotion; and building power, since color has its own meaning, capable of constructing the communicative graphic language of an idea itself.

You will learn to assess the potential of meaning production through color, identifying the functions and variables that it encompasses in the design process; something that will surely be essential in your own work.

In an analytical and practical way, at the hands of Leire and Eduardo, you will come to understand the intentional sense of color in a wide variety of graphic products: graphic identity marks, posters, book covers, signage systems, packaging , diagrams, etc.

In short, with this course you will be able to adequately consider the optical, expressive, psychological, symbolic, plastic, cultural, emblematic, conventional, etc. values that allow you to act responsibly and consciously, the true communicative needs of people.
