Calligraphy and Lettering: Break the Rules with Creativity

You will start by knowing Teck24 and his journey through the world of letters, from his first illegal signing in a school bathroom until today. It will give you a tour of his most important works and his influences in the world of graffiti, design, calligraphy and lettering .

Your first exercise will consist of choosing a phrase or word that you will illustrate and then moving on to a brainstorm of timed ideas in which you will try compositions and styles. You will analyze the results and Teck24 will explain to you what for him is the mental attitude necessary to welcome creativity.

You will discover the differences between calligraphy and lettering , and also the tools and techniques you need to carry them out. You will exercise both disciplines to warm your hand.

You will define your project proposal by brainstorming and start creating, first on the transparent paper to correct the design finishes. You will review concepts such as rhythm, interleading, internal spaces and harmony between line and surrounding space to refine the shape of your composition.

Next, you will review the couplings and bridges of your composition to make it a compact and easy piece to turn into a real object. Teck24 will give you some tips to speed up this process. From there you will digitally reveal your phrase or word.

You will make a quick vectorization of your design, focused on not losing the information and texture of the manual process. This will be another opportunity to check that everything is in place.

Once you have your digital design, Teck24 will advise you on the best way to bring your letters to the physical world through laser cutting, from the best materials to how to work hand in hand with the printer.

Finally, with your model created, you will learn to paint it with good finishes, always inviting you to create without fear and without filter.
