Description
Start the course by finding out a little about Juliana Mota's journey as an embroiderer. She talks about her main artistic influences including designers, illustrators, and textile artists related to the course content.
Next, dive into a study of color exploring different combinations and how to use them to communicate. Juliana shows you how to do a preliminary study of your composition using paper cutouts and geometric shapes to form letters.
Now it's time to pick up your needle and thread and learn a series of advanced embroidery stitches to apply to your geometric shapes and colored materials.
Then choose a word for your final project. Your teacher walks you through the creation process, starting with the client brief, and shows you how to choose stitches for both flat and 3D embroidery.
Round out the course seeing how to add the finishing touches to your piece and how to display your artwork on different shaped frames. Juliana gives some final tips on photographing your work to share online.
